Fischer Harps
Enthusiasm for tradition
Handmade harps from Chiemgau
The harp maker Karl Fischer Sr. designed seven different harp models beginning in 1976 and so far there have been more than 3500 harps built in Traunstein in Chiemgau.
Combining the traditional methods of harp making with the modern development of the single-action mechanism, he developed a very high quality product with a wonderful sound. Well-chosen materials like the finest knot and resin free spruce for the soundboard, and strings from the in-house production facility, make Fischer harps unique.
With Karl Fischer Jr. (son), who has taken over the direction of the harp production and Thomas Fischer (grandson), who is responsible for all stages of construction and repair, the family legacy of harp making is guaranteed to continue.
